Training on the Use of Red Ginger in Nagari Guwo, Kuranji, Padang City, as Medicinal Plants for Healthful Drinks

Red ginger as a agricultural product is generally only sold directly by farmers in traditional markets. They know the benefits of red ginger for treating and maintaining health, but its use is limited to being processed by brewing it directly with hot water. In this training, the knowledge on making red ginger powder was provided on how to process red ginger into a healthy drink that can be stored for a long time and brewed directly when needed. The training was conducted by providing information about the benefits of red ginger, demonstrating the processing of red ginger into a healthy drink in powder form, discussions, and filling out questionnaires form by participant of the community service activities that had been carried out. As a result, participants were able to learn how to process red ginger into a health drink. Participants also suggested in questionnaire form about the need for ongoing activities from this community service program so that it can later become a form of livelihood for the community. In addition, the participants were very eager to enhance their knowledge about health and the processing of natural materials for medicine. Participants expressed great satisfaction with this activity overall, with 11.1% agreeing and 88.9% strongly agreeing.
