Celery (Apium graveolens L.) : Chemical Review and Its Use in Facial Cream Masks for Healthy and Bright Skin

Natural face masks are masks made from natural ingredients that do not contain chemicals that are harmful to the skin and can provide extraordinary benefits for the skin, such as brightening, whitening, and maintaining healthy skin. This community service activity aims to provide education to PKK mothers in Padang Barat District, Padang City about the chemical content and benefits of celery (Apium graveolens L.) as a natural ingredient for facial skin care and to hold training for the community to learn the technique of making face masks from celery. The methods used in this activity include delivering material about the chemical content and benefits of celery for skin health, direct demonstrations of techniques for making face masks from celery leaves, and interactive discussions to deepen participants' understanding. Evaluation was carried out through a questionnaire to measure the increase in participants' knowledge after the activity. The results showed that the participants gained new knowledge about the chemical content of celery and how to make face masks from celery. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the average value of the questionnaire was 4.34 out of 5 with the category of understanding and satisfaction with the knowledge gained from this Community Service activity. Thus, this activity has succeeded in increasing the community's understanding and skills about using natural ingredients for skin care and is expected to be applied in daily self-care.
